Of WInes and Boats

In 2024, only one date - Friday 26th July - has been scheduled for our boat ride and wine tasting on the Loire river, "Of Wines and Boats". It is already sold out. What a success! We will not schedule any other date in 2024. If you are interested, do not hesitate to contact us so that we can put you on the waiting list, in case there are some cancellations.

On a beautiful summer day, at dusk, imagine yourself sitting on a sandbar, in the middle of the Loire, your feet in the water, enjoying a glass of Loire Valley wine with local cheeses and charcuteries. This is the unique and unusual experience that, since 2017, I have been offering visitors, in partnership with Millière Raboton, homme de Loire, a company that throughout the year organises rides on the Loire aboard traditional wooden boats. 

The boat rides start in Chaumont-sur-Loire, from the harbour located at the foot of the castle. They last between 3 and a half to 4 hours and are the opportunity to discover the river (history, plants, animals...) thanks to the experimented pilots, as well as to taste 4 Loire Valley wines - one served directly on the boats, the others on a sandbar along or in the middle of the river, depending on the level of the river at the date of the ride. The wines are served with local delicacies such as cheeses, charcuteries, Loire fish rillettes... You won't need to have dinner after the tour, as there is sufficient food served with the wines. An original, genuine and unique experience, for a magical and unforgettable moment!

Children are welcome on this tour. They will taste local fruit juice instead of wine and will be served the same food as the adults.
